Look What I Made

Hi all, I know I don't post often, but I made this dress and I'm in love :) I made it from this tutorial and think that it came out perfect. My little model did not necessarily feel like modeling, but I think you get the idea. It is made from a man's (my boyfriend) dress shirt. I hope to make a few more, but the blue one was my favorite.

Custom Order

Hello all, this is a custom order that I made for someone. I have to say, it is very tough to take a decent picture without a live model, but here it is. I usually make this with a dress top, but I think the shorter top came out adorable! She sent me the fabric and the measurements, and we went from there. Team Tuesday

Hello All, this week I would like to feature Creations by Robin. She has some really beautiful hand wrapped sea glass. I chose two of my favorites, but check out her shop and see all the original works of art. She has pendants, bracelets, and sometimes earrings.

I would also like to add, that I LOVE her color choices. I am a huge fan of blues and greens. She also shows some oranges, pinks, and darker shades of both blue and greens.

In General

Hello all, I was just thinking today (you might even see the smoke from wherever your are) about how much life can change. I went from being a girlfriend of 13 years to a single girl with a newborn baby. And here I am now with a beautiful 3 year old a new(er) boyfriend of 2 1/2 years and my life is wonderful. I am always super busy and running around like a crazy person, but I can't say I don't enjoy it. I guess you always wish for the thing you don't have. I wish that I could work only 3 days and just enjoy my daughter and my crafts, but somehow I don't think things would be any slower in pace:)
These were just some thoughts for the day, guess maybe I'm just feeling sentimental :)
As always please give my shop a look over, let me know if you see something that you think I could improve on. I'm always trying. In all the forums they say that you shouldn't ask for suggestions because you seem to "green", but I don't agree. I know how to make my products, and I know how to make them well, I'm just not sure how to make sure everyone else knows that :)

Hi all. This week I would like to feature Original Abbie. Again I have had the pleasure of meeting this seller in person, and she definitly seems like fun :) We met at the Waretown craft show that I did a few weeks back. Her little boy was running around enjoying his afternoon with his Grandmom :)
Anyway, back to product. I love her designs! She has in her Etsy shop some really cute block art pieces. The items that I saw at the show, though, were some super cute t-shirts. The shirts can be found at her other shop. I am just showing a small sample of her work, but be sure to check it out for some great items.

Another week, another team Tuesday. This week I would like to feature Dragons Den. This weekend I did a small craft show in Waretown and had the pleasure of meeting this seller. She is very nice, and happy to share her craft. These are a few samples of her work. The gift sets are a great idea, and of course soaps always smell great. I think the oatmeal soap is especially interesting. It contains real oatmeal so that it is also exfoliating.

Please check out her shop and keep her in mind for gifts. I think soaps and candles make great gifts, it's one of those things you rarely purchase for yourself, but would always like too :)

I think she has the neatest little items that would make great gifts for any occasion. They are all very clever and fun. Buttons in general always remind me of the movie Office Space. They are all fun "pieces of flare" :)

Team Tuesday

Well, I'm trying to do my feature of one artist per week, and doing the team Tuesday has really helped me there. This week I would like to feature happiknits.etsy.com. I love her shop and have actually purchased some of her fingerless gloves (which I love). I came across this item in my etsynj search and I came across a few items that were new to me. I was aware of her gorgeous cowls and scarves and things, but have realized that she is doing some accessories as well. These are of my favorites.

EtsyNJ Mclinky

I am part of the EtsyNJ team and we are trying out this McLinky thing. So far it is our first try and we have had a few bugs, but hopefully next week will be smooth sailing.

I am going to feature www.loveamarie.etsy.com . I love her shop!!! I make bags myself, but nothing that even comes close to what she has. I have admired them for sometime now, and who knows one of these days I'll scrounge up the money and splurge on one :)

Custom Order

I just have to share!!! I finished this custom order over the weekend, and am uber impressed with myself. It is for a flower girl in a wedding. This is a size 2, but I have one more to make in a size 4. So what does everyone think? Isn't it awesome :)

Teams

Well I joined a new team last month. The UWIB Team (Unique Women in Business). I am really enjoying it. Teams in general seem to be very supportive. I am a member of the bag making team, the crochet team, etsy moms, and etsy NJ. So far, for me, the best teams have been the UWIB and the EtsyNJ team.
My theory on this is, the NJ team is great because we are all local. We can talk about upcoming events in our state. It keeps you very informed of what shows are good, what aren't worth your time, and ones that are for like churches and things that you might not have heard about otherwise.
The UWIB team is great because it is all people that really want to be successful, but we want others to be successful as well. It is a supportive group and even though we all sell completely different items the information I have gained so far, has been really helpful. One of the members just went to a buyers market for the first time and we were all excited to hear how it went. (Personally never realized there was such a thing)
But anyway, my purpose in this post is to recommend that anyone who is not on a team, join one. If nothing else it links you with other sellers. When someone in your team gets a treasury they will look within the team, and other buyers may choose to search for others on that team. In closing it is a good idea and you shouldn't miss out :)

Wholesale

Hi all, as usual I have not been a good blogger. I rarely have much information to share, but this week I have something I think is of interest. I have a wholesale order that I am doing for some dresses. I am really excited about it (even though I sold them for way to cheap). The thought that there will be 50 dresses out there with my name on them, I just can't put it into words.

Now onto another wholesale topic, I put in lots of bids on wholesale and I got one back the other day asking for samples. I replied that I would be willing to sell the item for full price and if they order 5 or more would reimburse the full price, but would also give them the wholesale pricing on the new order. I think this is a great way to protect yourself. I have seen other bids asking for items to try out on there own kids and if they like them then they will order more. Well someone please tell me what is the incentive?

Anyway, wondering if anyone has any other wholesale stories to share?
